The 2026 3rd International Conference on Materials Physics and Composites (ICMPC 2026), sponsored by Kunming University of Science and Technology, organized by Yunnan University, co-organized by Wuhan University of Technology, and supported by Tongren University, successfully concluded from July 10 to 12, 2026, at the Deting Garden Hotel in Kunming — the "Spring City" of China. As a premier academic event in the fields of materials physics and composite materials, the conference brought together experts and scholars from universities, research institutes, and industry organizations worldwide. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics including theoretical innovations and the translation of research into practical applications in materials physics and composites, creating a diverse, open, and vibrant platform for academic exchange.
7月11日上午,大会在热烈的氛围中正式拉开帷幕。昆明理工大学方东教授代表组委会致开幕辞,对出席本次会议的各位专家学者表示热烈欢迎,并寄语与会代表充分利用此次学术平台,深入交流、碰撞思想,共同推动材料物理与复合材料领域的创新与发展。随后,全体与会嘉宾在会场进行了合影留念。
On the morning of July 11, the conference officially commenced in a warm and vibrant atmosphere. Professor Dong Fang delivered the opening address on behalf of the organizing committee. He extended a warm welcome to all attending experts and scholars, and encouraged participants to make full use of this academic platform for in-depth exchange and intellectual engagement, collectively advancing innovation and development in materials physics and composites. 本次大会主旨报告环节群英荟萃,四位材料科学与工程领域的知名学者围绕水氧化机制、电催化界面工程、纤维增强复合材料以及阻燃高分子材料等热点方向,奉献了精彩纷呈的学术报告。报告内容既有前沿理论的深度挖掘,也兼顾了技术应用的广阔前景,引发了与会者的强烈兴趣与热烈讨论。
The keynote speech session featured four distinguished scholars in materials science and engineering, who delivered outstanding presentations on hot topics including water oxidation mechanisms, electrocatalytic interface engineering, fiber-reinforced composites, and flame-retardant polymeric materials. The presentations not only delved deeply into frontier theories but also illuminated the broad prospects for technological application, sparking strong interest and lively discussions among the attendees.
主旨报告环节结束后,来自云南电网有限责任公司电力科学研究院、南京航空航天大学、电子科技大学、昆明理工大学、西南林业大学、湘南学院、太原理工大学、重庆大学、哈尔滨工业大学等高校及科研院所的多位学者依次进行了口头报告分享,涵盖铝基复合材料力学失效、纺织点阵夹层板疲劳性能、热电材料、锂离子电池正极材料、竹材生物基功能化、生物炭多功能材料、MOFs衍生传感器、负泊松比隔振器、蜂窝夹层结构、聚合物生物电子学以及前线聚合环氧树脂等丰富主题,充分展现了材料物理与复合材料领域年轻一代学者的蓬勃活力与创新潜能。
Following the keynote session, authors and scholars from universities and research institutes - including the Electric Power Research Institute of Yunnan Power Grid Co., Ltd., Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Kunming University of Science and Technology, Southwest Forestry University, Xiangnan University, Taiyuan University of Technology, Chongqing University, and Harbin Institute of Technology - delivered oral presentations. The topics spanned a rich spectrum: mechanical failure mechanisms of aluminum matrix composites, flexural fatigue of woven lattice truss sandwich panels, thermoelectric materials, lithium-ion battery cathode materials, bio-based functionalization of bamboo, biochar-based multifunctional materials, MOF-derived sensors, negative Poisson's ratio vibration isolators, hierarchical sandwich structures, polymeric bioelectronics, and frontal polymerization epoxy resins. These presentations vividly showcased the vitality and innovative potential of the next generation of researchers in materials physics and composites.
